Since 2007 the Regional and Municipal Public Library in Rzeszow has been digitizing its own collections.
Mostly older books and materials with expired copyrights and property rights are scanned.
Books, magazines, regional records of community life /including occasional and official printed materials, regional associations and organizations' letters, postcards, photographs, announcements, proclamations and many other prints and manuscripts/ are being digitized.
WiMBP in Rzeszow also undertook scanning of collections from the Stefanyk Scientific Library of Lviv NAN in Ukraine. These collections include regional periodicals from the XIX and early XX century as well as old magazines from Rzeszow, Jaroslaw, and Przemysl. All digitized resources are placed in a database of the Digital Library of Podkarpacie, co-created by WiMBP in Rzeszow and the Library of the University of Rzeszow.
